TV Shows To Binge Watch.

Saturday, 12 September 2015

I am a binge watcher. On my days off I love nothing more than staying in my pj's, getting cosy on the sofa with my blanket and watching my favourite tv shows back to back, mainly on Netflix. Some that I have watched thousands of times before, and others that I am currently watching and trying my hardest to catch up on!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S  - Holy hell. I have watched every episode of the series, at least 5 times. Easily. Some i've seen even more than that! The whole Rachel and Ross drama never gets old. 'I didn't get on the plane' WAHHHHH!

Grey's Anatomy  - I'd heard about this series for so long and watched a few episodes on tv when it was first released, but eventually forgot about it. HOW?! How did I forget about this series?! It's so addictive, dramatic and just..YES. I'm currently on season 5 and obsessed. I don't think i've ever cried so much over a tv programme!

Once Upon A Time  - This is my dream tv series. Disney films with a slightly dark twist..how could you not love it?! The disney obsessive in me fangirls every time a new character is added..here's looking at you Belle! Also..Captain Hook..hubba hubba..

House - This is one of the funniest series i've watched. Hugh Laurie is just hilarious..and I have a slightly strange crush on him..he got the older guy thang' down!

One Tree Hill - Nayley.. that's all i'm going to say. This series never gets old.

Sex And The City - I remember my older sister watching this on TV years ago and I was always obsessed. They were glamorous and gorgeous. As I grew up I realised they were just kinda' slutty. In a good way. I love all the girls and each of their personalities. It is my dream to live in NYC, sipping cosmo's with my best girl friends.

Footballers Wives - This is one for all my British readers..I think. I'm not sure this was ever a thing anywhere else.. It was so bad it was brilliant. So much drama shoved into one tv series. I always watch this if I need some easy watching and Lol's.

10 Things I Love About Autumn.

Thursday, 10 September 2015

1. The Colours. Whether that's the colour of the leaves or the colour of my lipsticks. I just love the deep reds and purples..

2. Scarves & hats. I love nothing more than pulling my big cosy hat and bundling up in my scarf!

3, Halloween YAY, I am like a child when it comes to Halloween. I love decorating the house, having Halloween parties and trick or' treaters!

4. Chunky Knits <3 Jumpers, cardigans or dresses..you name it. It's fluffy and cosy..i'll pretty much live in it the whole of Autumn/Winter.

5. Hot Chocolates. I don't drink tea or coffee at all & although I may drink the occasional hot chocolate throughout the whole year, there's something extra special about a hot chocolate when the weather is cold, Especially in your favourite mug. WITH EXTRA MARSHMALLOWS.. and a grated up Flake?!!! *heads into the kitchen*

6. Staying Indoors..I'm a little old lady, there's no doubt about it. I love getting cosy, lighting the candles, putting my fairy lights, firing up Netflix and not moving ALL NIGHT. *Hello my names Rachael and I am a recluse*.. The cold weather is the perfect excuse to stay indoors and you don't look like an ignorant so & so..

7. Films. Whether that be Halloween or Christmas films. They are ALL my favourite, particularly Hocus Pocus & Elf!!! I'd watch them all year if I could.

8. The Weather, not when it's raining!! But when it's refreshing and got that SLIGHT chill in the air. The perfect excuse to live in your biggest jumpers and not look like a complete knob.

9. Christmas is a' coming!!!! Need I say more..?

10. For all you ladies out there,,NO SHAVING! YAY WOO. Holiday season is *pretty much* officially over, meaning no summer dresses, bikinis or shorts. So your legs can go full on chewbacca mode and no one will have a bloody clue! For all those women right now saying *Oh I shave at least once a week, my legs are silky smooth all the time*.. stop chatting shite. Your legs are covered up in jeans, tights or leggings. Embrace the hairiness. You need all the warmth you can get!

What do you love about Autumn?

Top 5 Reads This Summer.

Wednesday, 9 September 2015

I am a huge bookworm, and by huge..I mean HUGE. I love nothing more than snuggling up in my comfiest pjs, grabbing some snacks from the fridge (obviously..) & getting stuck into a good book! Over the Summer I had read some right corkers and thought I would share with you my top 5 books i've read over the past 3 months. It was actually really hard picking, I feel like there have been so many amazing books i've read recently! It was like picking your favourite child..you shouldn't have one! Chances are you probably do, but you never tell them!!

Autumn Ready Skincare.

Tuesday, 8 September 2015

Autumn is well and truly upon us. It's a lot darker in the mornings and the sun has pretty much taken his hat off and done one. Whilst I do love Summer and nothing cheers me up like spending a day in sun, i'm also a huge fan of cosy nights in and chunky knits.

In the warmer months I love to go for lighter products, whether that be foundations, body cream or facial moisturisers, they always leave my skin feeling really refreshed and revitalised. However, as the weather turns colder and we get to Autumn my skin needs really rich products, otherwise my skin completely dries out and gets really flaky, particularly on my forehead and around my nose. I also get quite bumpy skin on the back of my forearms, which I always have if I don't exfoliate and apply body cream, but it just seems worse in the Autumn/Winter. My lips also shrivel up and can become quite sore and chapped as it gets colder so a nourishing lip balm is a must..

I've decided to put away my much loved Summer products and delve to the back of my drawers for these three winter saviours *angels sing, birds tweet..or not,  they've migrated by now surely*

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter is my go-to body lotion in Autumn! It's so rich, creamy and velvety. I apply this straight after i've got out the shower and it takes no time at all to sink in. It smells delicious and doesn't leave you feeling greasy, which is a huge bonus in my eyes! A little of this product definitely goes a long way so you get a lot for your money!

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is my face's holy grail! I apply this every night, only the smallest amount, and work it mainly onto my forehead in-between my brows, and around my nose as those are the places I get most dry. If I don't apply this overnight, my makeup can look really cakey, which is NEVER a good look. It applies really smoothly, and again..smells delicious and fresh!

Reve De Miel Lip Balm is a product I heard so many amazing things about, but didn't quite believe, until I bought it for myself!! It's really thick and unbelievably nourishing on the lips! I'm always recommending this lip balm to people with chapped lips, because it really does work wonders!

What are your go-to Autumn/Winter skincare products? I'd love to know!

A Blogging Hiatus.

Monday, 7 September 2015

Well..it's been a while.

I don't really have an excuse other than..I just couldn't be bothered. I used to love blogging and I mean LOVE it. I'd take pictures whenever I could, always be planning blog posts, writing them up, editing pictures..

Then all of a sudden, the thought of blogging caused this massive anxiety attack and I didn't want to do it any more. The thought of blogging actually made me feel sick and dizzy. I hated what blogging had become. I had got so caught up in the world of 'followers, events and page views' that I lost sight of why I started blogging in the first place.

I started blogging for other people and jumping on trends that I actually couldn't give two shits about, but blogged about anyway. That wasn't why I started doing this. When I started I didn't know anything about followers or page views, I didn't actually know there was such a thing.

Since when did how many Twitter followers I have become more important than things I genuinely cared about?

I decided to take an (unintentional) blogging break and by god did I need it. I've taken a step back and finally gotten my head in a happy place.

I'm not sure when i'll blog again, or what it'll even be about, but I know for a fact it's going to be something I actually want to say. When I want to say it. That's the beauty of having your OWN blog..you make the rules.

Body/Weight Shaming.

skinny shaming | Tumblr - a comment at work today to/about someone else really got me steamed about this. I hear it all of the time also and it's not any better than fat-shaming. You don't know a person's circumstances.

weight/ size has nothing to do with being a "real" woman or not. sick of the fat and skinny shaming.

If I had a £ for every person that's said me 'why are you at Slimming World?' 'Why do you go to Slimming World', 'If I was your size i'd be ecstatic, not weighing myself every week.' i'd be bloody rich.
I think they think it's a compliment, but it isn't. I can't help the way I feel about myself and my body. I don't like my body and I don't feel good about myself. Whether i'm 2st or 20st, if you aren't happy in yourself, no matter what other people say, that isn't going to change. I'm sick to death of feeling scrutinized every time I go to group. My group leader overheard a group of women commenting on my weight, and he said 'how do you know she didn't start out being heavier? How do you know she hasn't lost 20st and stuck to it and got down to where she is now?. Don't judge someone for something you have no idea about.
I know i'm not the heaviest there, but that doesn't give them a right to judge my decision to join a weight loss group. They have no idea the feelings and thoughts I have about myself.

Recently, Cheryl Cole was horribly abused online for pictures that were put up during the X Factor auditions. 'Omg, eat something, she's disgusting, how horrible, calls herself a role model'. I couldn't believe the vile things that people were writing. If that was an ordinary person's pictures put up there, would they write such nasty things? No, probably not! But because it's someone famous, it's allowed? Words hurt, no matter how famous, successful or rich you are.

'Real Women Have Curves' 'Strong Is The New Sexy' is a bunch of bullshit. You're sexy, however you damn well feel sexy. I'm no less of a woman because I don't have a Beyonce ass! Quotes like these are what make girls and women feel like they do. You can't win no matter what size you are. I don't have curves in 'all the right places' so i'm not real?...no way in hell am I strong, so I can't be sexy?
I don't know what gives people a right to say such negative things. Who are they to define what shape or size is sexy?

Research has found more 11-13 year old British girls than ever have emotional issues linked to body confidence. How bad is that? And it's body shamers, weight shamers and quotes like the ones above that are encouraging this.

Since when did everyone become so judgemental? To quote one of the greatest movies EVER. 'I just want to make a cake out of rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy.'
